Denver Pavilions is a $107 million, 350,000 square-foot urban entertainment center that includes a Niketown, Virgin Megastore, Barnes & Noble Superstore, Hard Rock Café, and United Artists Theatre. The project is currently open and is located on what had been two large surface parking lots along Denver's 16th Street Mall, a mile-long downtown strip that connects dozens of shops and restaurants with civic buildings and attractions such as the U.S. Mint, museums, and libraries.

At the time capital was being sought for this ambitious re-development effort, urban entertainment retail projects—which feature themed restaurants, film-based attractions, museums, and showcase retailers, as opposed to traditional department store anchors—were unfamiliar concepts.

A German investment group provided the equity of $27.5 million for development, and the balance of the $100 million project was financed with private and public funds, including $25 million contributed by the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA). A successful joint venture was established between the public and private sectors.
