Since founding Wells Hill in 1983, Mr. Gevalt has successfully built the firm into a valuable service provider to the real estate industry. Mr. Gevalt is responsible for managing Wells Hill and is personally involved in and responsible for all of its client engagements. Prior to Wells Hill, Mr. Gevalt enjoyed eleven years at Eastdil Realty, now Eastdil Secured, where he was a principal. Mr. Gevalt began his real estate career at Chemical Bank, a predecessor to JPMorgan Chase, where he was a construction lending officer. Mr. Gevalt has been or is both an active and passive investor in over $1 billion worth of real estate developments and acquisitions.
Mr. Gevalt is a former Warden, Vestryman and Chair of the Real Estate Committee at Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City. In that position, he oversaw active management and leasing of approximately six million square feet of office property, several development sites and the rezoning of the Hudson Square market in New York City, where Trinity properties are located. Mr. Gevalt also is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, former Council Member of the Urban Land Institute, former Board Member of the Institute for the Environment at UNC-Chapel Hill, founding Board Member of Episcopal Charities, former Board Member of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services, Advisory Board and former Board Member of Hudson River Community Sailing, former Board Member of Hotchkiss School and past Commodore of the Nantucket Yacht Club. Mr. Gevalt received a B.A with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1970.
